The Greenway Conservancy completed the planning process for a five year public art strategy in 2012. This project was supported by Fund for the Arts, a public art program of the New England Foundation for the Arts.
The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy will bring innovative and contemporary art to Boston through free, temporary exhibitions on the Greenway, engaging people in meaningful experiences, interactions and dialogue with art and each other. We will give artists unique opportunities to exhibit bold, new work that considers the possibilities of 21st century Boston.
This document is based on the research and reccomendations of consultants, Renee Piechocki and Jennifer McGregor, who collaborated with Conservancy staff and our Public Art Working Group to develop a strategy for the Rose Kennedy Greenway. We'd like to thank the Boston Art Commission for their support and guidance throughout the process. Download the Five Year Public Art Strategy.
Thanks to the excitement generated by the planning process, substantial progress has been made in raising private contributions to fund this year’s program and planning for future installations. We still need considerable support to execute future installations and our five year public art strategy as intended.
