If you are interested in volunteering for a dynamic and growing non-profit while helping to green your community, you have come to the right place! Learn more about our opportunities below, sign up for our Volunteer eNews and check out our calendar of events.
Many of our volunteers know and love our parks—as their front yard, their lunch-time escape, or a place to relax on the weekends—and they want to make a difference right on the ground. We hold a series of outdoor projects from mid-March to December to work on common gardening tasks such as weeding, raking, mulching, planting, and pruning. These typically occur once a month on weekday mornings from 9:00am-12:00pm. Our calendar of volunteer horticulture projects for 2018 is located here.
If you are interested in helping, please email the Volunteer & Programs Coordinator (at least 24 hours in advance) to register. The specific area that we will be working in that day and any changes due to inclement weather will be sent to you prior to the project. We ask that all volunteers arrive on time and ready to work with closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate clothing that can get dirty. All volunteers are asked to sign a waiver prior to beginning the project, and we will provide gloves, tools, water, and a snack!

Volunteers in this fun role interact with children and adult visitors, providing guidance, activities, and information about The Greenway. We are looking for people who are passionate about playability and public spaces, and are willing to work with a team to create meaningful experiences for park patrons.
Our Art Ambassador program will be returning to The Greenway in 2018! This volunteer position supports our public art program by providing park-based ambassadors that are knowledgeable about contemporary art practices, the artwork on The Greenway and our park system. We are looking for people who are passionate about public art and public spaces, and are willing to work with a team to create meaningful experiences for park patrons.
We also have some additional opportunities for individuals to be involved. To get started, you can fill out our General Volunteer Application! We also have set job descriptions and responsibilities for the following volunteer positions.
Please get in touch with the Volunteer & Programs Coordinator at email@example.com if you are interested in any of these opportunities or if you would like to explore other possibilities. As a general note, the volunteer intake process runs more quickly from November to April; from May to October many of our staff are busy out in the parks and response times may be delayed.
